American Day Sponsored by Pure Michigan:  Free Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions concern a promotional free prize draw (hereafter “the Draw”) to be run in conjunction with Brooklands Museum’s event, “American Day”, to be held on Sunday 1st September 2024 (if the event is proposed the draw would be on the re-arranged date), hereafter “the Event”).  

1. The Draw is being run by Brooklands Museum Trust Limited of Brooklands Museum, Brooklands Road, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 0SL (“Brooklands Museum”).  

2. By entering this draw, an Entrant:- 

2.1. is indicating agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions. 

2.2. confirms that they are eligible to enter and eligible to claim any Prize they may win; and

2.3. consents to any personal information they provide in entering the Draw being used by Brooklands Museum and / or Cellet Marketing & Public Relations Limited for the purposes of administering the prize draw. 

The Prize 

3. The Prize is a 7-night stay in Michigan. This is a fly drive package with flights, accommodation, car hire and attraction tickets, for the winner and their guest, and has been generously provided by Cellet Marketing & Public Relations Limited (“Cellet”) of Bloxham Mill Business Centre Office, 45 Barford Road, Bloxham, Banbury, Oxfordshire, England, OX15 4FF (as agent for The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (trading as “Pure Michigan”)).  

3.1. Accommodation comprises 7 nights’ accommodation for 2 persons sharing accommodation which will be 3* and above around the state of Michigan. All dates subject to availability, blackout dates may apply, this will include public holidays in both the US and UK and certain peak travelling times including school holidays. This will be determined solely by the agents of Pure Michigan and Detroit who reserve the right to exercise discretion. 

3.2. Air tickets are based on Economy class, round-trip travel to Michigan. Along with other restrictions stated in the booking profile, denied Boarding Compensation, Mileage Plus accrual and upgrading are not permitted. Travel is valid only on designated carrier. The air tickets will be issued by the chosen airline and may be in voucher form.

3.3. Days Car Hire based on a compact economy car, with standard insurance included, additional cover is recommended at the expense of the prizewinner. Petrol for car hire is not included. The cost of the hire car must be paid for by the winner at the time of booking collecting and returning the vehicle who will need a credit card in their name with sufficient funds for this purpose. Following the completion of the trip Pure Michigan and Visit Detroit will reimburse the cost of the hire car not exceeding the limitations of the prize. As car hire will require age limitations the winner must be able to fulfil that criteria and no additional cost will be accepted by the organizers for additional cost of exceptions.

3.4. Meals and refreshments during travel and in country is the sole responsibility of the prizewinner and the organizers will not accept liability for costs beyond flights, accommodation, and car hire.

Eligibility and Entry 

4. Entry to the Draw is free of charge, by advance booking online, you will automatically be entered into the Free Prize Draw, provided you enter correct details (address including postcode, a contact telephone number, and email address).

5. To enter the Draw, an Entrant must provide their name and a valid e-mail address for this purpose, at the time of advance booking admission tickets to the Event.  

6. Only one entry to the Draw will be accepted per Entrant, via their unique email address. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.  

7. The Winner of the Prize must over 21. Winners under 21 cannot accept the Prize due to minimum car hire age. 

8. Employees of Brooklands Museum and Cellet, and their immediate relatives, may not take part in this Draw. 

9. Entries will close at 0700 BST on the day of the Event. Entries received after the stated closing date will not be accepted.  

10. If you wish to remove your automatic entry from the automatic prize draw, you must notify Brooklands Museum by email to competitions@brooklandsmuseum.com, confirming the bookers name, address and reference number, not later than close of competition entry.

Award of the Prize 

11. The Draw will take place within 7 days of the closing date for entries.  

12. The Winner of the Prize will be randomly selected by Brooklands Museum through a computer-generated process.

13. There is one Prize available. The Winner will be contacted by email and will have 7 days to respond in order to claim their Prize. If contact cannot be made with the Winner, a second Winner will be drawn through a computer-generated process.  

14.Ticketing and all travel must be completed within 12 months of the prize being awarded and is not extendible.

15. It is the responsibility of the prize-winner to check and comply with visa requirements for entry to the USA and to bear the costs of any visa required. Failure to meet entry requirements of the US will render the prize invalid. All passengers must apply for an ESTA Entry into the USA via the Official USA Government Website.

16. Transfers within the UK to the airport and parking at the airport, meals, and incidental expenditure are not included and are the responsibility of the winner.

17. Cellet Marketing and Public Relations Limited, Visit Detroit or Pure Michigan bear no responsibility for additional costs arising from travelling and staying in the US that would and should be anticipated by the purchase of full and competent travel insurance, this includes any excess liabilities for any insurance coverage. It is a condition that where insurance is obtained the limitations of the insurance cover are understood by the purchaser and therefore all additional liabilities outside the cover remain with the prize winner.

18. The Prize is as stated, and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The Prize is not transferable. We reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent or higher value without giving notice.  

Data Protection & Publicity 

19. We will publish the name of the winner on our social media channels, and in the Brooklands Bulletin.

20. The winner may be required to participate in publicity accompanying or resulting from this promotion.

General 

21. The decision of Brooklands Museum regarding any aspect of the Draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.  

22. Brooklands Museum reserves the right to cancel the Draw or amend these terms and conditions at any time, without prior notice. 

23. Any breach of these terms and conditions by an entrant will void their entry. Misrepresentative or fraudulent entries will invalidate an entry.

24. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of the United Kingdom but specifically England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
