Information for Schools and Educators
Explore STEM in action at Brooklands Innovation Academy
Bring your pupils along to explore first-hand the world of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) against the historic and inspirational backdrop of Brooklands Museum.
Join us on Tuesday 3rd October 2023 for a day packed with innovation and inspiration, designed to show your year 8 students that STEM careers are creative, innovative and enjoyable.
We’ll invite 400 students to join us for a day of TED-style talks by leading scientists and engineers - including a special keynote presentation by Professor Brian Cox CBE OBE FRS – and practical workshops, many presented by leading STEM-based companies and trainers in and around Surrey. We aim to connect your students to the careers of the future – inspired by our amazing collection and a team of talented scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians from industry.
It’s a chance to meet with students and teachers from other schools. And we run a year-round programme of free STEM events for schools. This year’s programme includes a day on flight and simulations inspired by Barnes Wallis, a day themes around STEM careers in construction, and a day focusing on alternative energy.
And we’ll be inviting parents, students and special guests to come along for a special evening event.
How your school can get involved
We're inviting expressions of interest from schools. If you’d like your students to attend either the main event, or one of our action-packed lead-in events, please register your interest here.
Participation is FREE. You'll receive confirmation of this year's programme in May 2023.
*Please note this year’s main event is for year 8 students only.
