This summer, Brooklands Museum in Surrey celebrates Summer of Speed with a packed programme of summer activities, marking 100 years since Britain's first Grand Prix took place at Brooklands, the world’s first purpose-built motor racing circuit. With historic vehicles, interactive exhibits, and hands-on experiences, it’s the perfect destination for family things to do in Surrey.
Visitors can also benefit from Great British Summer Savings, with reduced VAT on eligible admission tickets throughout the summer.

Summer Activities for Families at Brooklands Museum
Throughout the summer holidays, Brooklands Museum is hosting a wide range of activities and experiences for families to enjoy. Here's what you can look forward to during your visit.
NEW Britain's Grand Prix Story Exhibition
Dates: Open daily
Times: From 10 am
Step inside the historic Jackson Shed and explore Britain's Grand Prix Story, a brand-new immersive exhibition celebrating 100 years since Britain's first Grand Prix at Brooklands. Discover more than a century of Grand Prix history through iconic racing cars, fascinating displays, and the stories of the people, innovation, and engineering that have shaped British motorsport from 1926 through to the present day.
NEW Brooklands Simulator Experience
Dates: Open daily
Times: Slots every 30 minutes from 10.15 am until 4 pm
Ticket Price: £10 per person (£9 for Brooklands Members)
Take to the wheel at the Brooklands Simulator Experience, a brand-new adrenaline-fuelled challenge that puts you in the driver’s seat on a digitally recreated Brooklands circuit. Race around the legendary Outer Circuit or Grand Prix Circuit, choose from iconic cars including the Delage 15-S-8, McLaren P1, Mazda MX-5 Cup, Tatuus FA01, and McLaren MP4/6, and see if you can set the fastest lap time on the Brooklands leaderboard.
Located in the Jackson Shed within the new Britain’s Grand Prix Story exhibition, simulator sessions are available to book on the day of your visit from Admissions. The 10-minute experience has a minimum height requirement of 140cm, and a valid Brooklands Museum admission ticket is required to take part.
Scavenger Hunt
Dates: Open daily
Another unmissable activity to enjoy during your visit is the Museum’s Scavenger Hunt. Pick up your trail from Admissions on entry and set off on your own lap around the site to discover 10 hidden Racing Flags, each with a fun challenge to complete at each location along the way.
Vintage Bus Rides
Dates: Open daily
Times: 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2pm, and 3pm
Ticket Price: £3 per adult and £1 per child
Take a step back in time with a ride on one of Brooklands Museum’s vintage buses. Departing from the London Bus Museum, visitors can enjoy a 20-minute journey around the local area and experience a taste of transport history.
Please note there will be no bus rides on 7 August due to the Museum closing early at 2pm.
Concorde Supersonic Family Tours
Dates: Monday 20th July - Monday 31st August
Times: 1 pm, 1.20 pm, and 1.40 pm
Ticket Price: £3.50 per person, Under 4s go free
Step inside Concorde and discover the story behind the world’s most famous aircraft with a family-friendly 15-minute guided tour. Designed with younger visitors in mind, this experience offers a unique opportunity to explore Concorde and learn about the history and engineering behind supersonic flight.
Tours are subject to availability. Under 4s go free but require a ticket, and children must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of five children per adult.
NEW Get Set Go! Summer Science Show
Dates: Weekdays, Monday 27th July - Friday 28th August (excluding Friday 7th August)
Times: 11.30 am, 1.30 pm, and 2.30 pm
Get ready for an educational and interactive science experience with the brand-new Get Set Go! Summer Science Show located in The Paddock. Packed with exciting demonstrations, experiments, and audience participation, this live show brings science to life in an engaging way for the whole family to enjoy.
Legendary Car Rides
Dates: Tuesdays - Thursdays, Tuesday 28th July - Thursday 20th August
Times: 11 am - 1 pm and 2 pm - 4 pm
Ticket Price: £5 per adult and £3.50 per child
Experience the thrill of Brooklands with a ride up the iconic Test Hill and around the historic track. These exciting car rides offer visitors the chance to get closer to the Museum’s racing heritage and enjoy a unique motoring experience.
Rides can be booked on the day, subject to availability, and are weather permitting. Participants must be at least 120cm tall, and under-18s must be accompanied by an adult.
SOLD OUT Grand Prix Celebration Event
Date: Saturday 8th August
Times: 10 am - 5 pm
Celebrate 100 years since Britain’s first Grand Prix at Brooklands with the Grand Prix Centenary Special Event, a landmark celebration of speed, innovation, and racing heritage. Visitors can enjoy a showcase of Grand Prix cars, live demonstrations, driver interviews, live music, family-friendly activities, and much more at the original home of British motorsport.
Please Note: Due to overwhelming demand, this event is now completely sold out. Unfortunately, there will be no tickets available on the day.

Brooklands National Autotest – Sunday 2nd August, 10am – 5 pm. Watch championship drivers put their skills to the test with precision driving, handbrake turns, spins, and timed challenges. Included with standard Museum admission.

Helicopter Fly-In – Thursday 20th August, 10.30am – 4.30pm. See a spectacular line-up of helicopters arrive, then get the chance to take photographs and view them up close. Included with standard Museum admission. Weather permitting.

Rollers & Racers – Saturday 22nd August, 10am – 5pm. Discover more than 120 years of Rolls-Royce and Bentley history with stunning vehicle displays, expert talks, and celebrations of two iconic British marques. Included with standard Museum admission.

Indian Motorcycle Anniversary Festival – Friday 28th August – Sunday 30th August. Celebrate 125 years of Indian Motorcycle with three days of displays, live entertainment, demonstrations, competitions, and American-themed attractions. Day visitors are welcome with standard Museum admission.

American Day – Sunday 30th August, 10am – 5pm. Enjoy an impressive display of classic American cars, themed entertainment, food, and dancing, celebrating the very best of American motoring culture. Included with standard Museum admission.

Aviation Day including Fly-In – Sunday 13th September, 10am – 5pm. Explore historic aircraft and cockpits, watch Concorde's famous nose droop, enjoy aviation-themed family activities, and see light aircraft fly into Brooklands throughout the day. Included with standard Museum admission. Weather permitting.
Enjoy Great British Summer Savings at Brooklands Museum
Brooklands Museum is taking part in the Government’s Great British Summer Savings initiative, giving visitors the chance to enjoy reduced admission prices this summer. VAT will be reduced from 20% to 5% on eligible standard admission tickets for visits from Thursday 25th June to Tuesday 1st September 2026 inclusive.
