One free carer/companion ticket can be provided for each paying visitor that may require assistance.

Accessible parking is available near our main visitor entrance (KT13 0SL). Some limited parking for visitors with mobility difficulties is also available on site through Campbell Gate (KT13 0QN). For larger event days, extra accessible Parking is provided in The Heights off Wellington Way. Parking in the main visitor entrance (KT13 0SL), visitors will then make their way across a bridge to the Museum admissions where either your pre purchased tickets will be checked, or you can purchase tickets on the day. After which visitors are free to explore the Museum at their own pace.

On average visitors will spend 3-4 hours at the Museum.

Volunteer stewards are located throughout the Museum amongst our collection.

Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the Museum. Please ensure where possible your dog is wearing an identifiable harness/jacket where applicable.

Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are welcome. Three wheelchairs and mobility scooters are available for visitors to borrow.

There is seating throughout the Museum, a mixture of picnic benches, chairs with and without arms and benches.

There is no step-free access to board our aircraft, which all have steep boarding steps, including Concorde. 

There is a level wide entrance at the front of the building and access to the café from the rear of the building is via a short low ramp. All public areas inside the Clubhouse have flat, level access. There is a lift for access to the first floor function rooms and the Club Members’ Bar.

There are toilets at the Clubhouse, Jackson Shed, Vickers Suite and in the London Bus Museum.

Wheelchair accessible unisex toilets are available in the Clubhouse.

Baby changing facilities are available in the Clubhouse, Vickers Suite and in the Jackson Shed.

Our staff have been trained to recognise if an individual is wearing a Sunflower lanyard to ask whether there is anything that they might need assistance with. Please speak to a member of staff who would be happy to assist you.

The Museum welcomes visitors daily and it can get noisy and overwhelming especially on our event days. See our current event programme here >

The Museum is usually quietest Monday – Friday during term time but we do have large school parties.

We can arrange for visitors to bypass queues on busier days, please speak to a member of staff on the day of your visit.

Ear defenders are available to borrow for visitors who are sensitive to loud noises, especially on event days when the site can be busy and loud. They are available to collect from main admissions on arrival.

We do not currently have induction loops available. However, our staff are happy to assist by speaking clearly, repeating information, or providing written guidance. Many of our exhibition displays are text-based. Where films are used, subtitles/captions are used when required.

BSL interpreters can get a free carer ticket on admission to support deaf visitors.

The Aircraft Factory in particular has low lighting.

There are some areas where low barriers are used to protect the aircraft but still allow for good visuals of the vehicles and aircraft.

Touch tours are currently not available. However, we are in the process of developing tours for blind and partially sighted visitors, please keep an eye on our website for further information coming soon.

We do occasionally offer object handling workshops during school holidays, please contact our access team for further information at the details above.

We offer a series of Relaxed Mornings on different dates throughout the year for visitors who are neurodivergent to enjoy some areas of the Museum, with quieter environments and fewer crowds.

The Museum offers Concorde Sensory Tours at certain times during school holidays, particularly suited to neurodivergent visitors and those with sensory needs.

The 25-minute guided tour includes:

·         Complimentary Concorde boarding pass

·         Hear about the history and operation of the Concorde fleet

·         Handle clothing, photographs and memorabilia from Concorde’s flying days

·         Sit in the comfort of Concorde passenger seats

·         Complimentary Concorde flight certificate

·         Taste a sample from an actual in-flight Concorde menu

Sensory Backpacks are now available for hire free of charge from Museum Admissions. These thoughtfully designed packs are primarily aimed at children and young people with neurodiversity and/or other disabilities, who may find our site overwhelming at times.

If you need medical assistance please speak to any volunteer or member of staff who will arrange assistance from a trained first-aider or call for an ambulance. Please do remember that the help we are allowed to offer is limited.

In the event of an alarm sounding, visitors should follow any instructions given by members of staff and make their way through the nearest exit door.

If anyone becomes separated from your party, please let a member of staff know as soon as possible, our staff will be able to assist you in locating the remainder of your party.

Children under the age of 16 must always be accompanied by an adult.

During school holidays and on busy event days we have lost child wristbands available on request from Admissions and Clubhouse reception.
