Motorsport fans have been given one final opportunity to be part of an extraordinary moment in British racing history, as Brooklands Museum releases a limited number of public tickets for its exclusive Grand Prix Centenary Premiere Evening on Friday 7 August 2026.
Taking place exactly 100 years to the day since Britain’s first Grand Prix was held at Brooklands in 1926, the special evening will offer an atmospheric and exclusive preview of one of the most significant gatherings of Grand Prix cars ever assembled.
More than 100 Grand Prix cars, representing over a century of racing history, are expected to come together at the place where Britain’s Grand Prix story began.
With the main Grand Prix Centenary Event on Saturday 8 August now completely sold out, the Friday evening is the last remaining opportunity to experience the centenary celebrations at Brooklands.
Visitors will also have the rare chance to see the historic Royal Automobile Club Trophy up close. One of the great symbols of British Grand Prix history.
From pioneering machines of the 1920s and even earlier cars that helped shape the dawn of motor racing, to Grand Prix icons from across the decades, the gathering will tell an extraordinary story of speed, courage and innovation.
For one evening, the Paddock and Finishing Straight will be transformed as Brooklands prepares to relive the atmosphere and excitement of a defining moment in British sporting history.
A major highlight will see cars descend the historic Members’ Banking and arrive on the Finishing Straight, creating a spectacular scene at the very place where Grand Prix history was made a century ago.
Visitors will be able to get closer to the cars, stories and atmosphere of the centenary during an immersive evening of motorsport history, entertainment and celebration.
The Premiere Evening will also offer a first look at the full centenary gathering ahead of Saturday’s sold-out event, making it a rare opportunity to experience Brooklands at a moment unlikely ever to be repeated.
Alex Patterson, CEO of Brooklands Museum, said:
“Exactly 100 years ago, the world’s leading drivers and racing cars came to Brooklands for Britain’s first ever Grand Prix. On Friday 7 August, we will mark that moment at the very place where it happened.
“To bring together more than 100 Grand Prix cars spanning over a century of racing history is extraordinary. Add the historic Royal Automobile Club Trophy, the atmosphere of Brooklands after hours and the chance to stand where the story began, and this promises to be a truly unforgettable evening.
“Our main Centenary Event on Saturday is completely sold out, so this limited release is the final opportunity to be part of a once-in-a-century celebration. Once these tickets are gone, they are gone.”
Brooklands hosted Britain’s first Grand Prix on 7 August 1926, establishing a legacy that continues through today’s British Grand Prix and a century of British achievement in international motorsport.
The Premiere Evening forms part of Brooklands Museum’s major centenary celebrations and follows the opening of Britain’s Grand Prix Story, a new exhibition exploring the people, machines and innovations that have shaped 100 years of racing.
The Grand Prix Centenary Premiere Evening takes place at Brooklands Museum on Friday 7 August 2026. Limited tickets are available now.
Saturday 8 August event is SOLD OUT (no tickets will be available on the day) and only a limited number of tickets remain available for Friday evening. Motorsport enthusiasts are being urged to book before they're gone.
