We welcome all visitors to Brooklands Museum and aim to make your day out successful and enjoyable. We are committed to improving access and facilities for disabled visitors.

Throughout your visit at Brooklands Museum, our helpful and friendly volunteer stewards and staff will always be on hand to assist you, ensuring that you have the best experience possible.

Brooklands Museum is a large open-air museum with many period buildings and exhibits. Due to the historic nature of our site there are areas which have bumpy and uneven surfaces. There is no step-free access to board our aircraft, which all have steep boarding steps, including Concorde.

Disabled parking is available near our Main Visitor Entrance (KT13 0SL), limited disabled parking is also available on-site through Campbell Gate (KT13 0QN). For larger events, extra Blue Badge Parking is provided in The Heights off Wellington Way. Parking in the Main Visitor Entrance (KT13 0SL), visitors will then make their way across a bridge to the Museum Gift Shop where either your pre purchased tickets will be checked or you can purchase tickets on the day. After which visitors are free to explore the museum at their own pace.

On average visitors will spend 3-4 hours at the museum.

Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the Museum. Please ensure where possible your dog is wearing an identifiable harness/jacket where applicable.

Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are welcome. Three wheelchairs and a mobility scooter are available for visitors to borrow. Please call our Visitor Services team to reserve a wheelchair or mobility scooter on 01932 857381.

There is seating throughout the museum, a mixture of picnic benches, chairs with and without arms and benches.

There is no step-free access to board our aircraft, which all have steep boarding steps, including Concorde. 

There is a level wide entrance at the front of the building and access to the café from the rear of the building is via a short low ramp. All public areas inside the Clubhouse have flat, level access. There is a lift for access to the first floor function rooms and the Club Members’ Bar.

Our staff have been trained to recognise if an individual is wearing a Sunflower lanyard to ask whether there is anything that they might need assistance with. Please speak to a member of staff who would be happy to assist you.

The museum is usually quietest Monday – Friday during term time but we do have large school parties.

We can arrange for visitors to bypass queues on busier days, please speak to a member of staff on the day of your visit.

Sensory Backpacks are now available for hire free of charge from the Museum Gift Shop. These thoughtfully designed packs are primarily aimed at children and young people with neurodiversity and/or other disabilities, who may find our site overwhelming at times.

Subject to availability, enquire at the Gift Shop on arrival.

Ear defenders are available to borrow for visitors who are sensitive to loud noises, especially on event days when the site can be busy and loud. They are available to collect from Main Admissions on arrival.

The Aircraft Factory in particular has low lighting.

There are some areas where low barriers are used to protect the aircraft but still allow for good visuals of the vehicles and aircraft.

Touch tours are currently not available at the museum due to the historic nature of our collection. We do occasionally offer object handling workshops during school holidays, please contact our access team for further information at the details above.

The museum offers Concorde Sensory Tours at certain times during school holidays, particularly suited to neurodivergent visitors and those with sensory needs.

25-minute guided tour which includes:

·         Complimentary Concorde Boarding pass

·         Hear about the history and operation of the Concorde fleet

·         Handle clothing, photographs, and memorabilia from Concorde’s flying days

·         Sit in the comfort of Concorde Passenger seats

·         Complimentary Concorde Flight Certificate

·         Taste a sample from an actual in-flight Concorde menu

There are toilets at the Clubhouse, Jackson Shed, Vickers Suite and in the London Bus Museum.

Baby changing facilities are available in the Clubhouse and in the Jackson Shed.

If you need medical assistance please speak to any volunteer or member of staff who will arrange assistance from a trained first-aider or call for an ambulance. Please do remember that the help we are allowed to offer is limited.

In the event of an alarm sounding, visitors should follow any instructions given by members of staff and make their way through the nearest exit door.

If anyone becomes separated from your party, please let a member of staff know as soon as possible, our staff will be able to assist you in locating the remainder of your party.

Children under the age of 16 must always be accompanied by an adult.

During school holidays and on busy event days we have lost child wristbands available on request from Main Admissions and Clubhouse Reception.
