Update 19th July
With Covid restrictions easing in England from Monday 19 July, but cases and transmission levels rising we have decided to continue with the following measures to protect the wellbeing and safety of visitors, volunteers and staff and help you have a comfortable and enjoyable visit.
- Face coverings and other measures
While face coverings are no longer required by law, we encourage the use of face coverings (if you are able to wear one) particularly in indoor areas (unless seated to consume food or drink) where you may come on into contact with people you don’t normally meet, as this may reduce the risk of transmission to yourself and others. This is especially important in enclosed and crowded spaces.
Any specific requirements relating to individual activities or events will be communicated as part of the booking process.
We will continue to operate measures to keep everyone safe on our site including increased ventilation, enhanced cleaning, provision of hand sanitiser stations, screens, one way systems in some areas and monitoring capacity.
- Prebooking and Timed-entry tickets
We encourage you to continue to prebook tickets for daily admissions and events. These will now be for arrival at any time on the day for which you have booked, you no longer need to book a specific time slot to arrive.
As there are limited spaces available pre-booking for the Concorde experience is strongly advised to avoid disappointment on the day.
All tickets currently booked after 19 July will automatically be useable at any time on the day for which you have booked. Members are no longer required to pre-book an admission ticket.
- Test and Trace
It is no longer a legal requirement to provide your contact details or use the NHS test and trace app, but we will continue to display QR codes and other methods for providing your details to support you being able to check into our venue.
- Volunteers and staff
Please continue to be considerate of our volunteers and staff by keeping a comfortable distance and following any directions they provide.
If you are feeling unwell or have any symptoms such as a high temperature, new and persistent cough, or change in sense of taste or smell, please do not visit the Museum and follow government advice.
Update 19th May 2021
We're back behind the Wheel
We are delighted to announce that we have now reopened our indoor areas. Brooklands Museum will open Wednesday-Sunday 10am-5pm and tickets are available to book online now. We will also be opening every day for Half Term 31st May - 6th June.
Brooklands’ famous motoring and aviation events will be back this year, subject to COVID restrictions at the time. More information about our events will be available soon, in the meantime visit our event calendar to get the dates in your diary.
All tickets must be booked in advance. Please book responsibly and in accordance with the Government's Roadmap out of Lockdown. We can only accept bookings for groups of up to 6 people including children or 2 households. When at the Museum you must socially distance from anyone you do not live with and not mingle with other groups.
You will automatically benefit from our Covid guarantee: should Government restrictions mean we cannot reopen; you will be entitled to a full refund or to rearrange the date allowing you to book with confidence.
Our original statement, 20th March 2020
Like a lot of organisations, Brooklands is facing a very difficult period over the next few months and beyond. We have been following advice and guidelines very closely and have come to the decision that it is in the best interests of our visitors, volunteers and staff that we close the Museum until further notice. At this time we do not know how long this will be but in the meantime, we will be keeping you updated through the website, social media and e-newsletters.
Many of the events have been reorganised for later in the year in which case your advance-purchased tickets will still be valid. Please see the Events pages on the website for more details.
We are a charity with no regular support from other organisations so the coming months will be very difficult. We still need to care for our collections, buildings and the upkeep of the overall site. Our income has already dropped substantially and we are going to be facing a very serious challenge in the coming months.
If you care about Brooklands, and are in a position to do so, now is the time to show that you #LoveBrooklands by making a donation or helping in other ways. Please join our campaign and give whatever you can in whatever way you can. We thank you for your generosity and look forward to welcoming you back as soon as it is safe and wise to do so.
