Update 26th November 2020

Reopening Brooklands Museum

Following the Prime Minister's announcement, we are delighted to say that we intend to reopen Brooklands Museum on  3rd December.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you back to Brooklands soon.

Update 3rd November 2020

Brooklands Museum to close temporarily

Following recent Government announcements, Brooklands Museum is now closed for the duration of the second national lockdown.

We will await further instruction and guidance about reopening after 2nd December and will update our website and social media accordingly so keep checking for updates.

Visitors with tickets booked for 5th November to 2nd December will be contacted this week and offered a refund or option to extend their tickets. Please bear with us as we work through contacting everyone.

Whilst we are very sad to have to close our doors once again, we are extremely grateful to everyone who has visited since we reopened in August. It’s been wonderful to welcome you all during the last few months and for us to share this extraordinary place and its stories with you. The fantastic feedback that we have received during this period underlines how much you’ve all enjoyed returning to Brooklands Museum.

We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to welcoming you back as soon as we can.

Stay safe

Update 23rd July 2020

Brooklands Museum to re-open on 1st August

Fans of Brooklands are now able to book tickets in advance to step back in time and see up-close, the cars that raced across Brooklands’ famous race circuit over a hundred years ago. The aircraft on display were all built at Brooklands, including the Hurricane, the Wellington Bomber and of course Concorde.

Whilst some new safety procedures and hygiene measures have been put into operation, the site, renowned for its quirky charm will see many of its key exhibits out of the sheds and on display outside. Not forgetting the army of exceptional volunteers that are ready and waiting for visitors to get under the bonnet of the place again.

Brooklands’ famous motoring and aviation events are still postponed for the moment but this summer promises a great Brooklands experience with a few surprises to boot.

Our original statement,  20th March 2020

Like a lot of organisations, Brooklands is facing a very difficult period over the next few months and beyond. We have been following advice and guidelines very closely and have come to the decision that it is in the best interests of our visitors, volunteers and staff that we close the Museum until further notice. At this time we do not know how long this will be but in the meantime, we will be keeping you updated through the website, social media and e-newsletters.

Many of the events have been reorganised for later in the year in which case your advance-purchased tickets will still be valid. Please see the Events pages on the website for more details.

We are a charity with no regular support from other organisations so the coming months will be very difficult. We still need to care for our collections, buildings and the upkeep of the overall site. Our income has already dropped substantially and we are going to be facing a very serious challenge in the coming months.
