4D Theatre
Inside the Balloon Hangar building, we have created a 4D Theatre that provides the closest experience any living person will have of “racing” around the Brooklands Race Track, “flying” with the Red Arrows or "Driving" with Mike Hawthorne around Le Mans. Visitors to the Museum can now take their seats for the ride of their life in a brand new, state-of-the-art 4D Theatre and we have three fantastic rides for you to enjoy.

The Napier-Railton Race Experience in 4D
Just as John Cobb and Sir Malcolm Campbell did in the 1930s, you can now see, hear, feel and even smell what it would have been like to race around the concrete banked circuit in a pre-War racing car. The race sequences were filmed at Montlhéry just outside Paris as it is close in structure to the original Brooklands circuit.
Running time approximately 8 mins.

Red Arrows in 3D
Discover the thrill of flying with the RAF Red Arrows during one of its sensational aerobatic displays in ‘Red Arrows 3D’. With stunning high definition 3D vision and flight simulator motion technology, you can see and feel for yourself what it is like in the cockpit as the ‘Reds’ fly in amazing close formation and solo manoeuvres.
Running time 7 mins.

A lap of Le Mans in Mike Hawthorn’s Jaguar in 2D
British Racing legend Mike Hawthorn is your driver as you take a lap with him in his Jaguar D-type around the circuit at Le Mans. What makes this a unique experience is that you are seeing the actual film and commentary made by Mike at the track on a blistering sunny day in 1956. With an introduction from Tiff Needell who reveals the original car he drove in, this time piece is a gem that will make you believe that you were there.
Running time approximately 7 mins.
