The Brooklands Double Twelve Motorsport Festival

  • Date June 17, 2017 - June 18, 2017
  • Time 10:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.
  • Suitable for Everyone

Celebrating 110th anniversary of the opening of the Brooklands Race Track.

Organised in association with the Vintage Sports-Car Club, the event celebrates Brooklands’ rich motoring history, and is always held on the weekend closest to the Anniversary of the original opening of the Brooklands race track in 1907. The two-day extravaganza features Speed Trials, Driving Tests, the prestigious Double Twelve Concours and Test Hill ascents, alongside family-friendly entertainment and activities.

The new structure of the competitions was changed in 2013 to encourage entrants to enjoy a full weekend of motoring competition and give them greater flexibility to choose from the three stand-alone competitions. This will be the format in 2017 with the three stand-alone events:

  • The Double Twelve Speed Trials on the Mercedes-Benz World circuit on Sat 17th June
  • The Double Twelve Concours held on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June
  • The Double Twelve Driving Tests on Sunday 18th June

Each event will have its own class and overall winners, but to achieve a Brooklands Double Twelve award, an entrant must compete in any two of the three events and the combined scores of these two events will decide their Double Twelve placing.

As well as the main competitions, the Test Hill Challenge will also take place on Sunday afternoon. This will involve everything from motorcycles to giant pre-war racing cars tackling the punishing 352ft (107m) slope, with running races for energetic children.

Kids will also be able to head over to our Family Activity area and make their own 3D Paddock Scenes - Come and re-create the glory days of Brooklands Motor Racing by making your own 3D papercraft model of the Paddock and Clubhouse!

Every available space on the site will be crammed with vehicles, with Double Twelve Competitions cars in a special paddock and the Motoring Village, 110th Anniversary vehicles in and around the Paddock and Car Clubs in the Aircraft Park. Due to limited extra space, parking on site is for pre-war vehicles, competitors and pre-booked car clubs only.

With family entertainment once again planned throughout the site and lots more attractions to be announced, this is a weekend for everyone!

Scroll down for the event timetables and more details of the 110th Anniversary Celebrations.

Brooklands 110th Anniversary Celebrations - Saturday 17th June

The highlight of the 110th Anniversary Celebrations will be the re-opening of the restored Finishing Straight. To mark the occasion scores of cars and motorcycles that raced at Brooklands will return to a section of the track that hasn’t seen motoring action since 1940.

Cars returning to the track include the biggest-engined cars ever to race or appear at Brooklands, most of the team which won the first two British Grands Prix here in 1926/7, and the first Bentley ever to win a race.
