100 years ago, on the 14-15 June 1919, Sir John Alcock & Lieutenant-Colonel Arthur Brown successfully made the first non-stop crossing on the Atlantic in a Brooklands built Vickers Vimy.
To celebrate the centenary of their incredible achievement we have opened a new exhibition, which tells the story of the courage, skill and teamwork of the people behind two significant aviation milestones, demonstrating how far we have come in such a short space of time.
At the centre of this exhibition will be Brooklands Museum’s replica Vickers Vimy (which, itself, has flown across the Atlantic, to Australia and South Africa).
