Get a double helping of motor action at the Museum’s celebration of motorsport.
Competition cars from all ages will be put through their paces on the adjacent Mercedes-Benz World circuit and later in the day, Test Hill will be in action. Expect to see a wide variety of competition cars from GTs to Touring cars and Group B rally cars. As ever, spectators will have the rare opportunity to see and hear competition cars at close quarters.
We have a fantastic line up of competition cars from all eras attending the event. Running on the Mercedes-Benz test track, the headline entry is the Ferrari GTB/4 Competizione that finished first in class at Le Mans and won the Tour de France in 1972. A more recent racing car is a Maserati MC Trofeo that ran in the GT4 championship. A strong Alfa Romeo group entry is also expected from the HRDC’s historic touring cars. Also roaring its way around the track will be the astonishing 16-cylinder ‘Streamliner’. Making the journey from Sweden, this car is a replica of the 1930s Mercedes W154 driven by Rudolf Caracciola.
If you would like to experience some motorsport for yourself, then why not make your way over to the Finishing Straight, where local motor clubs will be running a demonstration Autotest. For a £5 donation you can be a passenger in a car going round the iconic Brooklands track. You will need to register on the day to participate.
