Gift Aid Admission

Brooklands Museum Trust is an independent museum and a registered charity that does not receive any core funding from Government or local authority. The Museum therefore depends heavily upon donations to carry out its work.

Gift Aid admission prices include a 10% voluntary donation, and by paying this you enable Brooklands Museum Trust to claim the tax back on the whole amount paid as part of the Government’s Gift Aid Scheme. For us, that’s currently worth an extra 25p for every £1 you give which means that your donation will provide even more support for our vital preservation, restoration and education work.

Brooklands Museum is enormously grateful for every donation received regardless of its value. Each person who supports the Museum becomes part of our unique history and, more importantly, our future.

If you feel you are able to support us in this way please complete the Gift Aid Declaration form on your arrival at the Museum. Alternatively, you can download a form here and complete it before you visit.

Payment of the additional 10% donation is entirely voluntary, so if you prefer to pay the standard admission please advise our staff at the till point when you visit.

Why is Brooklands Museum asking for donations on top of the entry fee?

The rules governing Gift Aid on admissions to charitable attractions like us changed from 6 April 2006. The Government’s new rules state that we’re only able to claim Gift Aid on daily admission tickets if visitors donate at least 10% more than the standard admission fee.

What is Gift Aid?

It’s an HMRC scheme which allows charities to reclaim the basic rate tax you’ve paid as a UK taxpayer - an extra 25p for every £1 of the total paid. It makes a massive difference to charities like us.

Why should I make a donation?

Who is eligible for Gift Aid?

Everybody is welcome to make a donation to Brooklands Museum and as a charity we rely on support from a wide range of sources including membership subscriptions, grants and legacies to carry out our preservation, restoration and education work. However, only UK taxpayers can fill in the Gift Aid declaration which will enable us to make the claim from the Government,

Where does the money go?
