Brooklands Museum Membership Terms & Conditions
When you become a Brooklands Member you are entering into a contract with us which is governed by these terms and conditions (the Terms).
1. Introduction
1.1. These Terms apply to the membership contract (each a Brooklands Membership or Membership) between the Charity and each of the Brooklands Members.
1.2. In these Terms:
1.2.1. Brooklands Members means members (of any category) of the Brooklands Membership Scheme. Brooklands Members and applicants are referred to as you/your;
1.2.2. Brooklands Membership Scheme means the scheme made up of the membership categories and products described in paragraph 2 of these Terms;
1.2.3. Brooklands Museum means the motoring and aviation museum operated by the Charity at Brooklands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 0SL;
1.2.4. the Charity means Brooklands Museum Trust Ltd (a company limited by guarantee, No. 02109945; Registered Charity No. 296661). The Charity is also referred to as we/us/our);
1.2.5. Club Member means a Brooklands Member in the category described in paragraph 8.2;
1.2.6. Membership Card means the card or cards provided to you by us, confirming that you are a Brooklands Member;
1.2.7. Membership Fee means the money paid or payable by you to us to become a Brooklands Member;
1.2.8. Membership Period means the period of your Brooklands Membership referred to in paragraph 4.2 of these Terms[. The expiry date of your Membership Period is set out on your Membership Card];
1.2.9. Parking Rules means the Brooklands Museum parking rules published by the Charity from time to time on the charity website;
1.2.10. Privacy Policy means the Charity’s privacy policy, a copy of which can be found on the Website at www.brooklandsmuseum.com/privacy-policy ; and
1.2.11. Website means the Charity’s website at www.brooklandsmuseum.com .
1.3. These Terms should also be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy.
1.4. We may change these Terms at any time by publishing a notice of our new Terms on the Website, at least one month before they come into effect. Current Terms apply to all Brooklands Members, irrespective of the date on which their Membership began.
2. Brooklands Membership Scheme categories
2.1. We publish the categories of Brooklands Membership that are currently open to new members on the Website (at www.brooklandsmuseum.com/brooklands-members/join ). This sets out the requirements and criteria associated with each category of Brooklands Membership, together with the applicable Membership Fee and the associated benefits at that time.
2.2. From time to time, we may limit or close certain categories of Brooklands Membership to new members.
2.3. If your category of Brooklands Membership is limited or closed to new members, we may end your Brooklands Membership within that category when your current period of membership expires. We will notify you in advance and we may suggest alternative categories of Brooklands Membership that you may elect to move to.
3. Your application for Brooklands Membership
3.1. To apply for Brooklands Membership, you must follow the application process as set out on our website, select the relevant category of Brooklands Membership that you are eligible for and submit the completed application to us.
3.2. To apply to upgrade your Brooklands Museum tickets to a Brooklands Membership visit www.brooklandsmuseum.com/tickets/membership-redemption and fill out the redemption form.
3.3. When redeeming Brooklands Museum tickets against a Brooklands Membership, the Gift Aid donation and Premium event surcharge is not redeemable against your Brooklands Membership cost.
3.4. You must accept and comply with these Terms, and any changes that we make to them in accordance with these Terms, as a condition of your Brooklands Membership.
4. Membership Fees and payment
4.1. All Brooklands Members must pay an annual Membership Fee. We reserve the right in our absolute discretion to change the Membership Fee each year.
4.2. The agreement between us and you is entered into for 365 Days from the date of registration or renewal.
4.3. Unless we set out otherwise in writing, payment for your subscription is due at the date of application or renewal, as the case may be. To become a Brooklands Member, or to renew your Brooklands Membership, you must pay all subscription amounts when due and payable in accordance with these Terms and any other conditions applicable to your Brooklands Membership.
4.4. As your Brooklands Membership subscription is treated as a charitable donation, it is (subject any statutory right to cancel) non-refundable. We will not refund a Brooklands Membership subscription unless we are required to under applicable laws or we determine it is in our interests to do so.
4.5. Your Brooklands Membership is valid immediately from the day you complete a membership application or renew your existing Brooklands Membership. If you do not renew your Brooklands Membership it will expire automatically at the end of the Membership period.
4.6. Upon expiry of your Brooklands Membership you will no longer be a Brooklands Member, and you will no longer be entitled to receive Membership benefits. However, you may receive Membership email updates for up to 3 months after the expiry of your Membership.
4.7. When each Membership approaches its expiry, we will send you a renewal notice reminder (via email or post). Your Membership will lapse unless a further Membership Fee payment is received from you. We may contact recently lapsed Members regarding re-joining.
5. Direct Debit
5.1. To pay by Direct Debit, you must complete our Direct Debit mandate.
5.2. To process your Direct Debit, we will share your information with GoCardless our Direct Debit partner. GoCardless T&Cs can be found on their website https://gocardless.com/
5.3. When each Direct Debit Membership approaches its expiry, we will send you a renewal reminder (via email or post). If you do not wish to renew your Membership you must inform us at the earliest opportunity and preferably at least 10 days before the end or your Membership period otherwise your Membership will automatically be renewed. We may contact recently lapsed Members regarding re-joining.
6. Gift Aid
6.1. Some Brooklands Membership subscriptions may be eligible for gift aid. We may ask you to complete a gift aid declaration when joining, renewing or during your Membership. The gift aid declaration sets out the requirements for gift aid.
6.2. If your Brooklands Membership is set up as eligible for gift aid, you must notify the Membership Office of any changes to your circumstances which might affect gift aid, or if you wish to cancel your gift aid declaration.
6.3. If you have any queries relating to gift aid on your Brooklands Membership or would like to understand what gift aid has been claimed on your Brooklands Membership, you may contact the Membership Office.
7. Membership Card
7.1. We will issue you with a Membership Card for each Membership Period as evidence of your Brooklands Membership.
7.2. If you have not received your Membership Card, or it has been lost or damaged, you should contact the Membership Office to report it and request a replacement. You will be charged an administrative fee for a replacement card.
7.3. Brooklands Membership, the benefits of Membership and the use of your Membership Card are for the named Member(s) only and are not transferable. If we have reasonable grounds to suspect that others are using your Membership Card or receiving the benefits of your Brooklands Membership, we may suspend or cancel your Membership and any associated benefits.
8. Membership Benefits
All Members
8.1. Provided payment of the applicable Membership Fee is not in arrears, all Brooklands Members are entitled to the following benefits during each Membership Period:-
8.1.1. free and unlimited access to Brooklands Museum during standard opening hours. All Brooklands Members are required to present their Membership Card(s) when entering Brooklands Museum; and
8.1.2. access to the Members Magazine. This may be hard copy or in a digital format.
Club Level Members
8.2. Club Members are entitled to the benefits in paragraph 8.1, plus:-
8.2.1. Club Members may bring up to five guests into Brooklands Museum during each visit. Your guests must accompany you onto site and you must show your valid Club level Membership Card to gain access for you and your guests;
8.2.2. Club Members and their guests have exclusive access to the Club Members Bar on opening days. Only food and drinks purchased in the Club Members Bar can be consumed in this area. Club Members are responsible for all charges incurred by their guests and shall remain with guests when using the Club Members Bar; and
8.2.3. subject to the Parking Rules and to the directions of the Duty Manager, Visitor Experience Officer or other staff members, Club Members may park on the Brooklands Museum site. Priority parking for Club Members on Brooklands Museum event days, is subject to availability and spaces are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
General
8.1. Full details of the benefits associated with each category of Brooklands Membership are published on our Website.
8.2. Certain events will incur an additional charge, for example Members Talks and Coffee Mornings and events operated by or in conjunction with third parties. Any additional charges will be published on the Website and in the online booking process.
8.3. We may, where it is necessary or reasonable for us to do so, vary or suspend any or all of the benefits of Brooklands Membership at any time, without notice.
You must notify the Membership Office of any change to your address, email address or other contact details as soon as is possible. We will not be responsible for any losses, including any loss of Membership benefits, which may result from your failure to notify us of your change of address, email address or contact details.
8.4. You must treat our employees, volunteers, other Brooklands Members and visitors with respect, and in such a way not to cause offence or annoyance. This includes in person, online and over the phone.
8.5. Unless stated otherwise, copyright and all other intellectual property rights in all publications and materials supplied by us to you are owned by us. Brooklands Members may not reproduce, transmit, distribute, sell or commercially exploit any such materials or any Brooklands Museum trademark (registered or otherwise) or logo without our prior written consent.

9. Member communications and Privacy Policy
9.1. When you become a Brooklands Member, we will process your personal data to manage your Membership as set out in the Privacy Policy.
9.2. We process your personal data under the legal basis of contract in order for us to provide you with your Membership; in some cases, data is also processed under a legal obligation (for example in relation to gift aid), or with your consent (for example photographs at events). 9.3. As part of your Brooklands Membership, we may send you the following by email and/or post:
9.3.1. news and information about Brooklands Museum, events, talks, school holiday activities and more.
9.3.2. Information about the work we do and the products and services we offer.
9.3.3. Information about your Brooklands Membership and Brooklands Membership benefits.
9.3.4. Special Brooklands Membership offers and benefits
9.4. You may unsubscribe from the majority of post, emails or phone calls at any time by contacting the Membership Office. We may still contact you about other non-marketing important information that is essential to processing your Membership or that we are legally obliged to send, such as:
9.4.1. Your Direct Debit and Gift Aid confirmations
9.4.2. Renewal reminders and any information about your renewal or cancellation.
9.4.3. Confirmation of changes we have made to your name and contact information that you have requested
9.4.4. Any changes to these Terms or to our Privacy Policy that you need to know about.
10. Liability
10.1. We shall not be liable if we are delayed or prevented from performing any obligation under this agreement for reasons outside of our reasonable control.
10.2. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by the Charity’s negligence (or that of its staff, employees or agents) or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for any other liability that cannot under applicable law be excluded or limited.
10.3. Subject to paragraph 11.2, the Charity shall not be liable (howsoever arising and whether for breach of contract, negligence or for any other reason) to any Brooklands Member or to any other third party for:
10.3.1. any loss of profit; or
10.3.2. loss of sales; or
10.3.3. loss of revenue; or
10.3.4. any special, incidental, indirect or consequential loss.
10.4. Subject to paragraphs 11.2 and 11.3, the total liability of the Charity for anything that it has done or not done under or in connection with these Terms (and whether the liability arises because of breach of contract, negligence or for any other reason) is limited to an amount equal to the annual Membership Fee paid or payable during the year in which the cause of action arose.
11. General
11.1. These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and, in the event of any dispute arising out of these terms and conditions and/or your Brooklands Membership, you agree with us to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
