This bike was unusually advanced for its day but only about 500 were made. Distinctive features include linked front and back brakes, shaft drive magneto, a sprung frame with rear suspension and a clock on the instrument panel.
The engine was a “silent block” configuration, 400cc 26° V twin.
Matchless motorcycles had much success racing at Brooklands and held the world speed record in 1911 at 91.23mph.
