Singer 9hp Brooklands Racer
1933, Campbell Shed, On long term display
This car still carries its original paintwork and racing number from when it competed in the Light Car Club International Relay Race at Brooklands in 1934. It was driven by Eileen Ellison as the white car in a red, white and blue team. The other two cars were driven by Kay Petre and Mrs Tolhurst. The team came 5th and won the Houghton Cup for the highest placed women’s team.
The car had already raced in the same event in 1933, on that occasion driven by A.H.Langley. The team came 8th in the race.
