Donate an Object
Brooklands Museum is dedicated to collecting and preserving the history of Brooklands for present and future generations. The Museum currently has over 50,000 objects in its collection with almost 10,000 of those on loan.
We are reliant upon the generosity of those who donate and loan items of Brooklands relevance for the richness of the Museum’s collection. However, the desire to preserve must also be balanced with the resources available. A Collecting Policy is in place to guide the Museum in what it should and should not be collecting.
If you have an item that you would like to donate (or loan) to Brooklands Museum, please first take a look at our Collecting Policy to see if it fits with the sort of items we collect. We have priorities for future collecting and areas we no longer collect in. In addition, we are very unlikely to accept any objects that duplicate those in the collection and we will assess each object to satisfy ourselves that we have the necessary resources to care for it to the correct standard and not to the detriment of other items in the collection.
After reading the Collecting Policy, if you think that your item fits with Brooklands Museum’s collection please contact a member of the curatorial team, preferably by email with photos attached:
