Starley ‘Psycho’ Lady’s Safety
Made by Starley Brothers of Coventry. James Starley left the Coventry Machinist Company in 1870 and formed Starley Bros.
John Kemp Starley, a nephew of James Starley designed and produced the first commercially successful safety bicycle ‘The Rover’, with chain-driven rear wheel, in 1885. These machines were expensive to buy and were rather more fashion accessories than working road cycles.
