Douglas EW 600cc (reconstruction)
This reconstructed Douglas EW was built over 3 years by Brooklands Museum Volunteers.
This Douglas EW 600cc has been rebuilt by museum volunteers in 3 years with lots of help from others in finding all the required parts. The initial 1927 side valve engine was donated to the museum, with belief that it once raced at Brooklands. Since the rebuild it has been ridden at a number of classic bike events including the Festival of 1000 Bikes at Mallory Park.
The engine is typical of a Douglas bike with a ‘boxer twin’ engine. The engine had once been used in a cement works to power machinery.
