Austin 7 Sports

This Austin Seven Sports Special was rebuilt in the style of the cars that raced at Brooklands.

From 1922 the Austin Seven changed the whole concept of motoring by providing a practical form of four-wheeled transport at a low-enough price to enable the wider public to become car owners. This car is typical of the Austin Sevens which took part in trials and club racing at Brooklands.

Barrie Knight, alongside his father Sidney and his uncle Harry, who worked for Bentley, rebuilt this Austin Seven using original parts. It appeared on television a number of times during the 1980s, including Nigel Mansell’s episode of This Is Your Life.
