Austin 7 Speedy 'Le Mans'
This car won its class in the 1935 Le Mans 24-hour race, finishing in 27th overall.
It was entered by Austin dealer Harry Ferguson (of Ferguson tractor fame). The car ran very well for its size and beat its direct competition. Racing Austin Sevens were very successful at Brooklands beginning with Gordon England who broke multiple class records and peaking with S.C.H Davis and Lord March winning the 1939 BRDC 500 miles race. In 2010 this car returned to Le Mans to take part in the Le Mans Classic weekend race, competing at the track where it had been successful 75 years earlier.
