This model of racing bike was made famous by Ray Booty of the Ericson Wheelers in 1953 when he became the first person to ride 100 miles in under four hours (3 hrs 58 mins 28 secs). The bicycle has been preserved in excellent condition but a past owner has evidently continued to use the bicycle for domestic use as he has fitted flat handlebars for a more comfortable ride.

The RRA was made in small numbers because it was costly to produce. It had many alloy fittings and a Sturmey-Archer 3-speed close ratio gear hub.
