Sisters in Spitfires
- Date May 21, 2017
- Time 12:30p.m. - 3:00p.m.
- Suitable for Everyone
We head back to the Second World War in the company of Brooklands Member Helen Mills who will be reminiscing about her time as an RAF plotter.
She will be joined by Alison Hill, poet and author of Sisters in Spitfires (Indigo Dreams, 2015) who will be reading from the collection and talking about female aviators during the war. Alison memorably visited us last year with readings in the Belman Hangar.
Melody Foreman will also be reading from her new biography of ATA pilot Mary Wilkins Ellis, A Spitfire Girl: One of the World's Greatest Female Ferry Pilots Tells Her Story (Pen and Sword, 2016).
This is a lunchtime event taking place in the Brooklands Clubhouse and a two course lunch will be included in the price.
