BTM Car Show & Jumble

The BTM's main event of the year is approaching - the Classic Car Show & Jumble takes place on Sunday 23rd July from 10am. It's a fantastic day out and we have over 100 stall holders booked in to the event. There is a wide arrange of goods on offer from traditional auto jumble parts through to retro/ vintage gifts and collectibles.

If you were looking to book a trade or car boot pitch then I am sorry but all pitches have now sold out.

If you are bringing a classic car then there is no need to book - just turn up on the day - normal Museum admission applies.

Here are some examples of some of the stalls:-

Number Plates - This year there is a chance for you to have new number plates made up for your classic (or ordinary car) - show plates or normal plates can be made on site

Car Keys - get your classic car or household keys cut on site

Petrol globe lamps - As seen on the adverts for this year's show - electric lamps with a logo petrol globe

Brooklands photos and prints - Christ Heritage has large prints of Brooklands subjects in race Bay 74 and Mark Amor has original photos, magazines and art prints for sale in the Motoring Village.

Signatures - The Signature store exhibit for the first time with signed photos of books from Stirling Moss, John Surtees etc.

Car Badges - several stalls are offering car badges including show regular David Yeates next to the Museum shop and Phil Turner in the Paddock who is selling original Brooklands Badges.

Fossils & Crystals - something a little unusual from Lorraine Harris in the Campbell Car Park

Vintage furniture and clothing - Claire Ford returns in the Campbell Car Park with a wide selection of retro items

Books/ magazines/ car models - there are a number of stallholders offering a good selection of these items including Jeremy Wood and some fine art car books in the Race Bays

Tools/ Car Care - You'll find tools and car care from A1 Abrasives and Smart Tech in the Race Bays and A&S Collins on the grass area have a great selection of new tools.

Of course we never know quite what will turn up in the car boot section which this year is based in the Motoring Village

The Classic Car Show will be based largely on the newly re-opened Finishing Straight and we welcome all types of classics from the more traditional Brooklands pre-war cars through the post-war period and into the '80s, '90s and even noughties with some modern classics. We hope that motorcycles will make a stronger appearance this year and we'll have a category specifically for them in our "Pride of Ownership" competition. All vehicles attending the show will be viewed and the best, in the opinion of our judges, will be awarded the coveted Brooklands trophies. You can expect a wide range of classics to whet your nostalgia appetite and find one that your Dad or Grandad once owned.

What else? - why not have a go at our mini Brooklands cross country sprint in The Paddock with a radio controlled car - the top driver of the day will receive a Brooklands Trophy. You'll also find a tombola and the infamous "lolly game" in the Paddock too. During the day our tame ukulele group - the "New Mugs" will be roaming the site and setting up impromptu sessions where you might not expect them! We'll also be selecting some of the cars arriving for the show for a special showcase feature outside the Paddock where we'll be having a chat with the drivers about their cars or bikes.

So bring along family and friends and mix a day of shopping with cars and bikes - we'll see you at Brooklands on the 23rd July.
