Coronavirus Update from Shere Hill Climb:
The 6th September may seem a long way off but the Shere Hill Climb committee have to make early financial commitments to ensure the infrastructure of the event is up to the standard that you have come to expect. We are already out of pocket and rely on the Entry Fees to cover this expenditure. Normally we start the day of the event with very little left in the bank.
Nobody really knows how the next few months will develop but decisions have to be made. Our current plan is that we will close entries in the normal timescale, at the end of April and then announce the entry list in the usual way, however, we will defer payment of Entry Fees until the end of June and whilst this will be tough, it should give us just about enough time to put the event together. Hopefully we will also have a clearer picture by then and a firm decision whether we can safely run the event can be made.
I do hope that we can all meet up in September with all the usual happy smiling faces that make the SHC such a great day out.
We will keep you informed as we go along.
The Shere Hill Climb is a fun non-competitive event held on the slopes of the North Downs. The Outreach Team host a Brooklands Paddock for visiting vehicles and for those taking part in the event itself. Details of how to enter the Hill Climb will be released as soon as they are available - it usually sells out quite quickly.
This event raises money for local causes and e are delighted that Brooklands Museum is one of those.
