4G Tour - Gee-gees, Gliders, and Gardens

You will start the day at 0800 hrs by arriving at Sandown Sport and Ski Centre overlooking the
famous racecourse. There you will register and receive your Tour Pack after which you will
enjoy what I have been reliably informed are the “best bacon and sausage ciabattas you will
get anywhere”.

After building up your reserves for the day and departure from the start point, your road book
will guide you in a south-easterly direction through the beautiful Surrey Hills into Hampshire
and on to the Lasham Gliding Heritage Centre. The centre's collection of over 40 gliders includes 4 owned by Brooklands Museum, one of which was once the property of famous racing driver Prince B Bira. It is still painted in his Thailand racing colours of yellow and blue. There will be guided tours included at the venue.
After another short jaunt we will arrive at West Green Gardens near Hartley Wintney. This is a
property in the National Trust portfolio, and the grounds feature a lake which forms the backdrop to open-air operas in summer. Here there will be the opportunity to buy home-made lunch in the Tea Room.
Alternatively, please feel free to bring your own picnic.

Our final venue is Ramster Gardens on the Surrey/Sussex border, where we end the day. Their
The 20-acre woodland garden provides a peaceful setting to see beautiful flowers and there are
hidden sculptures and natural carvings as you explore the grass paths. Here you will take
afternoon tea and have an opportunity to display your vehicle in their wonderful grounds
before making your own way home.

Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and numbers are limited to a maximum of 35
vehicles. So do book early to avoid disappointment. Once all the tickets are sold, you will be able
to join a waiting list in case spaces become available.

If you will be bringing a classic car, that is fabulous.
If not, do not worry, as ALL types of vehicles are most welcome.
