The Motorcycle Show report

18 August 2021

The Brooklands Motorcycle Show was one of the first events on the motorcycling Calendar and the bikers were out in force to show their support. A surprise special guest was Allen Millyard from ITV4’s The Motorbike Show who entertained visitors with his unique builds. As is customary for the event, a range of bikes of all ages took to Test Hill. Allen Millyard took a slow first run on his “V” twin Velocette before trying the mighty Flying Millyard. The 5 litre “V” twin is fashioned from two cylinders of a radial Pratt and Witney aircraft engine. It breezed up the hill on tick-over and was filmed for the next series of Secrets of The Transport Museum.

Out on the finishing straight for their third outing was the Hayes & Southall Motoball Team who treated the visitors to their thrills and spills version of the beautiful game.

Speaking after the day, Allen said he had really enjoyed the event, but could not wait to get back to the Museum on a weekday to have a proper look round and get inspiration for a “winter project”.

BMtv has produced a video series of the event, which can be viewed here
