New Year’s Day Classic Gathering 2024

15 January 2024

Brooklands Museum’s New Year’s Day Classic Gathering kicked off 2024 in style

A firm favourite amongst enthusiasts, Brooklands New Year’s Day Classic Gathering returned with great popularity to welcome in 2024.

Brooklands Museum, in Surrey, welcomed over 7300 visitors and 1200 Classic cars and motorcycles, making it the most successful event since the pandemic and second largest gathering ever held here. Visitors were spoilt for choice with the array of vehicles that filled the entire site, including a remarkable selection of pre-war cars within the Paddock, up to more recent “L prefix” Classics, as well as a section of modern sports and supercars.

Alongside the interesting vehicles to admire, there was plenty for all ages to enjoy including a winter BBQ, many food and trade stands, family crafting activities and live entertainment, the atmosphere was simply joyous – even the weather just about held off.

Alex Patterson, Director and CEO, Brooklands Museum, said,

“We are absolutely thrilled that our New Year’s Day Classic Gathering was such a roaring success. It was a brilliant way to welcome in the New Year and see the site being enjoyed to its fullest. Our special thanks go to the marshals, volunteers and staff team for helping make the event run so smoothly, as well as the thousands of visitors and Classic vehicles who brought the site to life. We look forward to welcoming many more visitors to the Museum throughout the year ahead.”

It was the perfect start to Brooklands Museum’s busy 2024 calendar which will include a variety of enthusiast and family orientated events to suit all interests.
