Highball: Live Zoom Talk with Dr Iain Murray

7pm 11th February

If you wander into the Stratosphere Chamber building you will see in one of the corners a spherical bouncing bomb, about one metre in diameter weighing 1250lbs. Designed by Sir Barnes Wallis it was called the Highball and it was built to be used against German shipping in WW2.

On the 11th February at 7pm Brooklands Members Talks will be presenting a live Zoom webinar lecture given by Dr Iain Murray of the Barnes Wallis Foundation, who will talk about the Highball's design, tests in Scotland and retrieval from Loch Striven in 2017, with our example arriving at Brooklands in 2019.

How to Book:

If you want to book a seat at this fascinating live presentation followed by a Q&A called Highball - the other 'bouncing bomb" A Cinderella story (with robots), email talks@brooklandsmembers.co.uk and you will be sent Zoom login details.
