Classic Bike Trackdays (CBT)

28 March 2024

Many of you will be familiar with the Brooklands Members and Vintage Motorcycle Club groups at the Classic Bike Trackdays (CBT) event, which we have been taking part in for a number of years. This year, we have an interesting collection of classic bikes being paraded. They make a great sight and show off classic race bikes from yesteryear.

Spectators are welcome and it is free for them to get in. There is also excellent food available at reasonable prices throughout the day. Over the years, we have had a number of people riding in and enjoying the atmosphere and banter in the paddock with a spot of food and a cuppa!

This year, to extend the interest in track days, we are considering putting on a couple of parade laps of the circuit during Saturday lunchtime. This is an opportunity for spectators who have ridden to the event to ride their bikes on a gentle instructor-led lap.

To take part in this parade, your bike would have to be more than 25-years old, it must be road registered, you must have a full motorcycle licence, and the bike must be oil tight - no breathers without catch tanks. All riders will need to wear proper motorcycle gear (two-piece leathers or armoured Goretex, boots, gloves, and full-face helmet). All riders will need to complete an indemnity form and read a short briefing document to explain the parade rules.

There will be no charge, but if you want to make a donation to the Joey Dunlop Foundation that CBT supports it would be appreciated.

If you have never ridden on a race track and would like to have a go, then send me an email indicating you would like to take part and what bike you will be riding. Places are limited to 20 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

It is a great day out and a unique opportunity that CBT and Castle Combe Circuit are offering.
