VSCC Driving Tests 2018 Report

01 February 2018

47 pre-1939 cars competed in the traditional New Year Driving Tests held by the Vintage Sports-Car Club throughout the Brooklands site on Sunday 28th January.

Competitors and spectators were able to enjoy the new larger area for competition afforded by the relocation of the WWII Bellman Hangar and restored Finishing Straight which now joins the Banking to the Paddock area, Test Hill and Motoring Village as it did in period. A dozen fiendishly contrived tests which followed a “six before lunch and six after” format were tackled by all competitors who excelled in the challenges set by the organisers.

In all 17 Awards were won with overall honours going to Edward Williams in his 1929 Frazer Nash Super Sports with other notable performances including Edmund Burgess in his 1924 Bugatti T13 and Katie Forrest in her 1912 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost.
