Surrey Digital Award for the Museum

15 March 2016

On Thursday 10th March the Museum was delighted to receive the ‘Spirit of Surrey’ award at the Surrey Digital Awards 2016.

The Surrey Digital Awards are now in their second year, with an impressive list of sponsors including Surrey County Council, Gatwick Airport, Woking Borough Council and the Surrey Chambers of Commerce. The Awards celebrate the online achievements of businesses, charities and schools in the county, rewarding digital innovation and recognising the fantastic pool of talent that Surrey has to offer. The shortlisted finalists included outstanding Surrey businesses, so it was an honour to be invited to attend the award ceremony at the HG Wells Conference Centre in Woking.

The Spirit of Surrey award is given to a specially selected winner who has gone above and beyond to promote the county of Surrey through their digital work. The Museum was hand-picked by the Surrey Digital Awards team for attracting attention and interest into the county through our digital work and outstanding communication and information-sharing on social media. The award was presented to Katharine Allen, Marketing & Fundraising Assistant at the Museum, who looks after the Museum’s social media channels, by the CEO of the Surrey Chambers of Commerce, Louise Punter.

If you would like to join the Museum’s online community, you can find us on Facebook Brooklands Museum, Twitter @brooklandsmuseu and Instagram @BrooklandsMuseum. There are also channels for Brooklands Museum Learning and Brooklands Concorde.
