Autumn Motorsport Day 2017 Report

11 October 2017

On Sunday 8th October, our Autumn Motorsport Day event took place welcoming competition cars of all ages to the Museum site.

The Paddock and Motoring Village were packed with an astounding mix of vehicles including vintage racers, competitors in the British Cross-Country Championship, BriSCA Heritage 1950s stock cars, ‘NASCAR’s, Rally single seaters - including John Reaks’ 1990 F1 Benetton B190 - a Nissan GT1 and West Surrey Racing with their double championship winning BTCC BMW 125i M. On the Finishing Straight there were Club displays and the incredible 3000hp Dragster ‘True Blood’ fitted with the Donovan #144 engine.

At 12pm many of the cars were put through their paces on Mercedes-Benz World circuit and back on site later in the day the ‘True Blood’ dragster was fired up, just before the crowds lined Test Hill for a spectacular session of ascents.
